**** ALL INCLUSIVE TOUR ****
We will start driving to the ruins of Cobá, where we will learn about the ruins on a guided tour and explore the mystical Mayan ruins and it’s temples. Cobá once was the most important and biggest city of Yucatan, the old name was “Cob Ha” which means "muddy water, moved by the wind". Cobá is the biggest and oldest city of the mayan civilization in Yucatan, with about 6,500 buildings and more than 50,000 inhabitants. The built-up area is said to have extended to over 70 km2, trade between the Caribbean coast and the cities inland ran through the Cobá junction. A series of stone and cobbled streets radiate from Central Square to various Mayan cities near and far. These streets are called “Sacbe”(white paths), some of these sacbes lead to the Caribbean coast in the east. The longest leads straight for 100 km west to the Mayan city of Yucatan and connects Cobá from there to Chichen Itza. Be awed by how advanced these people have lived thousands of years ago.
We will then enjoy a typical Mayan-style buffet lunch in a typical palapa
restaurant overlooking the lagoon.
On the way back to Tulum, we will stop in a small village and have the opportunity to buy handcrafted souvenirs (hammocks, bowls, dream catchers, blankets, masks, etc.). The prices here are definitely cheaper than in the famous 5th Avenue and you can haggle prices.
