Option 1: Golf Car Tour 

 

You will be driving around the Island for about 1-hour with a golf cart to get an impression of this small Caribbean world. Our path leads past white sand dunes in the turquoise/ light green sea, thatched roof hotels, and colorful beach bars. We will make some photo stops and capture these wonderful impressions forever. You do not need a driver's license, just a good mood! 

Option 2: Horseback Riding

 

Those who prefer to explore part of the island riding on the back of a horse can do so on an about 1,5 hour ride. Riding a horse between the mangroves and in the sandy beach is definitely a unique experience. If you are a beginner, don´t worry, our experts are more than happy to help you. We adjust ourselves to the skills and experience of everyone, your experience should be an unforgettable moment. Do not forget to bring your camera or cell phones, the view is indescribable!

We will start early to enjoy the nature and beauty of this small Caribbean island and spend an unforgettable day

in Mexico's little paradise. The island Holbox (pronounced Holbosch), located north-west of Cancun is only 42 km long and 2 km wide

and still quite original with many colorful shops, cafes, tiny little restaurants and Caribbean bars. 

Here, the Gulf of Mexico meets the Caribbean and draws the colors of the sea in a variety of shades of turquoise. Our day starts with a ride in a very comfortable van ( with a maximum of 16 people) to Holbox, in the port of Chiquila a small motorboat will be waiting for us. The first part of our program begins with a visit to Passion Island, there we can admire the bird life (Pelicans, Cormorants, Herons, Frigates, Ospreys and most of the time Flamingos in their natural habitat. Also,with a little bit of luck Dolphins). The view is uniquely beautiful !! 

 

After Passion Island,we drive about 10 minutes with our motorboat to the main Island, here our tour guides will explain you some things about Mexico and the Holbox center. Now we leave for our Golf Car or horseback riding tour.  

 

After we finish all our activities, we are going to enjoy the best that our beach club has to offer. The beach restaurant has a direct view where we can enjoy a long and gently sloping sandy beach. Have a drink or a cocktail and relax in the water, immerse yourself into a completely different world. Now that you have free time, enjoy a walk on the sandbanks with your feet in the waves or the sand. We will take beautiful photos of you and yours, so you can focus in enjoying your time together, making memories. Optional sun beds close to the water are available if you want to add more luxury into your trip. 

 

Finally, we will have lunch together. With our feet in the sand and a cocktail in our hand, a beer or a soft drink. We will have plenty of free time to enjoy the shallow and often bath warm water. Take a rest, a siesta, a nap, or a meditation, in the relaxing cool hammocks of our beach club. Experience this unique island feeling with us!

Pick up and transfer:
  • Pick up at the lobbies of all hotels from Iberostar Paraiso via Playa del Carmen to Grand Bahia Principe. Please, let us know before booking about the location or name of your hotel
  • Hotels in Tulum, Cancun, Puerto Morelos, as well as between Puerto Morelos and Iberostar Paraiso : Pick up or meeting point will be arranged at the time of your booking
  • The transfer to Playa del Carmen (with the Colectivo shared minivans) can be done by any person staying at any hotel from Cancun or Tulum for about 2 to 3 USD. Very easy, safe, and inexpensive. The white Colectivo minivans begins to transit around 5AM in different directions and pass by every 5 to 10 minutes towards Playa del Carmen
Driving time:
  • The driving time to the port of Chiquila is approximately 2 hours from the center of Playa del Carmen (depending on traffic and without hotel pick-ups). Please note this with your tour planning
Attention:
  • We are no longer allowed to go in the water with the horses
  • We start around 9:30am with the horse tour so they never have to suffer the heat of the midday
  • The riding tour is suitable for advanced riders but also for absolute beginners, no riding knowledge required!
  • In mixed groups of riders (beginners and experts), we adjust the tempo of the group
  • We try to allow experts to gallop, but it is not guaranteed due to the group composition
  • The riding tour goes through the back of the island and the beach. The center of the island is not explored
  • The horses are Mexican bred. They are in good condition, healthy, well cared for, but they cannot be compared to a European or American stable bred horse
  • The horses have a long rest period between the morning and the afternoon tour for regeneration
  • They will be ridden with western saddle and bridle
  • There may be a waiting time for the horses (changing clothes, spraying, instruction, allocation of horses, or even waiting for the horses as they are traveling in another group).
  • When riding, please wear a pair of long pants (to protect against saddle and stirrups) and use mosquito repellent! Horses will be ridden without a helmet
  • Your bags and clothes can be stored in the stable at a designated area, where the group will also be allowed to change. We assume no liability for loss of bags or clothing. Bring a fanny pack or a mini backpack that is easy to carry, (large bags and rucksacks are not allowed on the horses) 
  • We kindly ask you to protect our reefs, cenotes and animals by avoiding sunscreen. They have a big impact of the damage of nature, even if it's biodegradable. Please use special Lycra shirts with UV protection instead
  • Our tour is also suitable for children! Please bring suitable swimming aids!
  • Sun loungers and hammocks are available at the Beach Club. No guarantee
  • Outside of our offer, additional drinks from the Beach Club will be your responsibility (remember to tip your bartender/waiter).
  • This tour is a full day tour! It begins between 5 AM to 6AM, and the true return to Playa del Carmen is around 6 PM to 7 PM  (depending on traffic, weather, events, etc.). However, we cannot guarantee this

Payment options:

 

  • The payment of our tours can be done in CASH the day of the tour. We accept US Dollars, Mexican Pesos, or Euro (at the current daily exchange rate). It is not possible to pay with credit card or bank transfer
  • We ask for your understanding, just for the fairness of the other guests, we cannot drive to any banks or ATMs to exchange or withdraw money
